There's a good chance this is already fixed in a more recent version of KDE
Frameworks. If you're feeling brave, you can upgrade using the Kubuntu
Backports PPA like so:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
