That said, this time if I hold down alt until it stops hanging on its own, KWin seems to get a graphics reset which at the very least breaks rendering of blur until I kwin_x11 --replace it. I did notice something odd though. I mentioned how the mouse cursor going over a panel unstuck it? I think it seems to happen with entering windows with the mouse too, at least now that rendering loop is set to basic. So I have firefox maximized behind everything else, and I have say konsole and discord open above that. I have konsole focused and my mouse outside its window. I hit alt tab and hold alt, this hangs KWin, then I move my mouse into Konsole and it mostly reliably stops hanging. Seems to work for any window too.
