This no longer happens in master. It seems dmitry implemented a force to make
outline appear on max size. Now sketch engine uses a circular otuline as
preview.
I tested all Sketch engine brushes from different authors, and also made a
couple in krita. Also checked, and the code to display the outline is there. It
seems the relevant pieces are there since June 5 2018. I think we forgot to
close this bug.
@n-pigeon do you still get this bug? I'll mark as resolved for now
