I did everything as being told, and there is no difference in the end result…

Usually I don't need to set JULIA_EXECUTABLE, as it is in the default path:
-DJULIA_EXECUTABLE=/usr/bin/julia

There is nothing useful in the output, when I log in into julia (btw, what 'log
in' means in this context? I simply [tried to] started the julia session, which
produced no output there):

$ cantor
Invalid Context= "stock" line for icon theme:
"/usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/stock/16/"
Invalid Context= "stock" line for icon theme:
"/usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/stock/22/"
Invalid Context= "stock" line for icon theme:
"/usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/stock/24/"
Invalid Context= "stock" line for icon theme:
"/usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/stock/32/"
Invalid Context= "stock" line for icon theme:
"/usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/stock/48/"
Invalid Context= "stock" line for icon theme:
"/usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/stock/64/"
Invalid Context= "stock" line for icon theme:
"/usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/stock/128/"

That it was indeed, the debug version, is that I've got the
CantorTargets-debug.cmake file instead of CantorTargets-debin.cmake
