SUMMARY
If you click outside the canvas area, the current selection does not get
removed.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select selection tool.
2. Select a random area.
3. Click on the grey area outside the canvas.
OBSERVED RESULT
Selection stays.
EXPECTED RESULT
Selection disappears.

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Install: snap installation
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This comes into play, when the canvas is bigger, than the screen size. E.g
extremely large images or zoomed images.
