After maybe 20-30 tries, and an overnight time delay, dvb5zap actually recorded an mpeg.ts file, and at that time kaffeine began to work normally across many stations. After shutting down the app, it would black screen again, dvb5zap created empty mpeg.ts files again. Same after power cycle. It appears to me that for some reason the board (KWorld ATSC110) is not always initializing properly.
