Thanks for uploading the animated gif. Yes I confirm the issue that the
animated gif is not playing properly.
It should import and show with 500x451 pixel and 20 frames as a normal clip.
In Premiere CS6 it works. It seems that Kdenlive doesn't convert the animated
gif to a clip.
