However, looking at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1518264 it seems that Bugzilla may be heading to a proportional font by default. However, the change behind that appears to be a move to Markdown (for new comments only), and Markdown still allows monospace fragments. Moreover, the change appears to be in the bmo project, not in Bugzilla itself, so this may never end up here. Therefore, I am marking this as resolved.
