I have not observed any crashes or blank pages in Slide Show or Presentation anymore :-) Unfortunately, I won't be able to verify whether the problem is gone on my old machine (32bit Win7), too. However, a new observation: When using Presentation/OpenGL transitions, the image is not sharp. It looks as if a too-low-resolution image has been enlarged to fit the screen. Transition itself works.
