Just wondering, when in my patch I bail out from an otherwise endless loop and
thus leave at least 1 entry undeleted, do those get deleted at runtime in a
future session? Or do they risk ending up hanging around because attempts to
delete them are only made on exit and my workaround is always triggered then?

Judging from diag. output the latter would seem more likely, which makes me
wonder if one couldn't queue a clean-up phase after loading a session (i.e.
when all language support plugins are loaded)?
