Thanks Mark for quick respond.
I've just downloaded and tried
digiKam-6.4.0-git-20190926T094341-MacOS-x86-64.pkg - it does not start even.
I get the following:
dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/digikam/lib/libKF5Service.5.dylib
Referenced from: /opt/digikam/bin/kbuildsycoca5
Reason: image not found
