I just ran into this after watching a video on the Assistant tool. I decided to
try out the tool by setting up guides for isometric drawing but the screen kept
going black on zoom it. It appears to happen with the ends of assistants are
all out of view and you are zooming in between them. I had assistants drawn
over the entire canvas so if I zoomed in more than 50% it would all go black.
After testing a much smaller assistants you can tell it is only if you are
zooming in between endpoints.
