I think I have this problem, occasionally, on Spectacle 17.12.3, on Linux Mint
19.2.
At any rate, sometimes the program get stuck in the rectangle drawing mode and,
in order to regain control of the computer I need to open a tty and kill
Spectacle. Cf. perhaps #394499.
