            Bug ID: 413925
Summary: Copy/Cut into a Fill Layer's alpha channel
           Product: krita
           Version: 4.2.7.1
          Platform: unspecified
                OS: All
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Layer Stack
          Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: k...@jan.limpens.com
  Target Milestone: ---

One should be able to select/copy/cut something from a source fill layer's
alpha channel and paste it into another target fill layer's alpha channel, so
that this detail changes color.

Everything I try leads to the copied piece of an alpha channel being inserted
as a new paint layer. Split alpha seems to work only on the entire alpha
channel and not on a part of it, so seemingly I cannot use this.

This works okish in commercially available alternatives, when one deselects all
color channels and only has the alpha channel visible. But to my opinion krita
should be able to make a much better job. After all, the alpha channel is the
only thing that can be manipulated in a Fill Layer interactively.
