Bug ID: 415477 Summary: Drag and drop files left of the tree view, dropes it into the non highlighted subfolder of the same line Product: dolphin Version: 19.12.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: details mode Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: pos...@posteo.eu CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 124666 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=124666&action=edit Screenshot of the issue. SUMMARY In the detailed view, a folder is only highlighted if the mouse directly hovers over the rectangle bounding the icon and the file name. This is an indicator that this folder will be used. If it is not highlighted it should indicate that it's not going to be involved in an action. However, dragging and dropping files left to the tree of subfolders, will actually copy them into the subfolder (which is in the same line as the mouse pointer), although it's not highlighted. It's not quiet easy to undo this unwanted action. Ctrl+R does not work. However, if it is actually the intention to drop it into the subfolder, it would be very convenient if the whole line were highlighted. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Like in the screenshot: 1. Details view 2. Drag files or folders 3. Drop them left of the tree OBSERVED RESULT No subfolder is highlighted. Files or folders are copied into the subfolder, which is in the same line as the mouse pointer. EXPECTED RESULT The files are dropped into the main folder OR the subfolder line is highlighted. For the latter case, if the files should go to the main folder, the user would need to drop it onto the most right folder of the bread crumb or the user first has to go a level up.
