--- Comment #8 from mountainai...@outlook.com ---
I had to give up on the RPi4 beta of StellarMate OS because of various
connectivity and stability issues, even with an ethernet cable running to the
backyard.

However, when I switched to RPi3 I was pleasantly surprised. In contrast, it
is a joy to use. I still run into occasional problems, but its WiFi is
reasonably strong even through the closed patio door.

One BIG issue is that when I run the software update utility on the desktop via
VNC, it seems to make everything worse (both RPi3 and 4). For that reason I
have not updated to the latest KStars. On RPi3 it actually breaks the package
update system, and even after repairing it via shell I was unable to get it
running reliably again. This happened multiple times, requiring a re-flash.
However, I see that I can update KStars alone via the StellarMate app on iOS,
so I'll try that with a duplicate SD card.

I still have not tried running an imaging session on the RPi3 itself, per your
request. I will try that, with short exposures, before and after the update
and will report back when I can.
