I did the remove with purge, removed all configuration files I could find, but still same issue with VSCode. I'm now on 0.9.85 from the "Rik Mills" ppa which is the documented package on github (https://launchpad.net/~rikmills/+archive/ubuntu/latte-dock). Apparently this ppa is built from source daily.
