I've stumbled across this too (Neon packages, Plasma 5.19.2, Frameworks
5.771.0, Qt 5.14.2). It seems, however, that when the activity has no open
windows, clicking on the switcher and pressing escape hides it. Also, with open
windows, invoking `Show desktop` and then clicking on the switcher and pressing
escape hides it.
