This problem should be fixed a couple of days ago. Please try with the master
https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage_Build/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/.

Be aware that the master contains a new project file which is not backward
compatible.
