Criticality of the bug might be overtaken by events, if I can find a good way to scan directly to PNG files. Originally intended to do this using an Acquire Images Tool furnished as part of digiKam -- but have been unable to find the tool through the user interface. However, we still have an open bug report on TIFF files under Windows. It would be nice if you could provide a test TIFF file through an upload service.
