Robert,
as you are on Ubuntu, but not on Kubuntu, that may be due to the required icon
sets not getting installed. Can you please install also the Breeze icon themes?
On a sidenote, please consider upgrading to Kdenlive 16.04.1; it's available
from the stable ppa, ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-stable -- I've just checked to be
sure. Please use the testing ppa only if you have good reason to do so. I'm not
even going to mention the git master ppa here for some good reason :)
