Same for me. Private software solutions users always criticize easily, without
to look how work digiKam.
We develop digiKam since 20 years now, with a lots of long time users feedback.
It's not only the development of obscure Tux users working in a virtual world.
We use this room (bugzilla) to spare ideas and to advance step by step. This is
the Agile development concept.
Masking Tags features as you propose will be a huge regression.
Note: by the same way I personalty tried other Photo Management software as
Aperture, LR, Darktable. The last one have the most WEIRD interface very
obscure for me, and i left to try to use it in few minutes.
