--- Comment #5 from Ben <ben...@protonmail.com> ---
I was able to enter in grub commands by following instructions on
https://linuxhint.com/grub_rescue_ubuntu_1804/

I had to change the boot partition to "nvme0n1p6" to match the correct
partition instead of "sda1".

A problem still exists where the computer does not show a grub boot menu and
still goes to the grub command line.

In Kubuntu, I also tried to update grub using:
sudo update-grub2
but it still requires me to enter commands into grub.

I also tried grub-install but it fails:
$ sudo grub-install /dev/nvme0n1
Installing for i386-pc platform.
grub-install: warning: this GPT partition label contains no BIOS Boot
Partition; embedding won't be possible.
grub-install: warning: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed
in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and
their use is discouraged..
grub-install: error: will not proceed with blocklists.
$ sudo grub-install /dev/nvme0
Installing for i386-pc platform.
grub-install: error: attempt to read or write outside of disk
`hostdisk//dev/nvme0'.

I'm using UEFI and dual boot with Windows 10.
