Bug ID: 425566 Summary: Ekos flat frame automatic ADU algorithm is erroneous Product: kstars Version: git Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com Reporter: co...@mimas.ru Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 131023 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=131023&action=edit Ekos log SUMMARY Exposure time estimator jumps up and down in the range of 1000x. I set the start time a bit too early and it was getting brighter quickly while Ekos was trying to figure out the exposure time. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set exposure duration to 1s, type Flat, ADU target 40000, tolerance 5000, 64 frames. 2. Add sequence to the schedule, starting about an hour before dawn. 3. Start the scheduler. OBSERVED RESULT See the log after 2020-08-16T05:14:59.738. It starts the job normally, but jumps in its estimation of a good exposure time between ~0.1s and ~100s. Occasionally it settles and makes a good number of exposures. EXPECTED RESULT As Sun goes up and ADU goes over tolerable 45000, it should make little adjustments in the right direction. I expect one or two trial frames before it finds new good exposure time.
