STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. have a png or text file on desktop
2. select and delete it by pressing shift+del
3.
OBSERVED RESULT
We can see a greyed out icon for ~5 seconds and then Plasma shows deleting
notification
EXPECTED RESULT
the file should immediately be deleted

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
this behavior does not occur when I use Dolphin to delete a file located on
desktop
