Which isn't too surprising given this issue doesn't manifest on restart of plasmashell; which implies it only happens when screens externally change when kscreen kicks in. What might help is adding #!/bin/sh export QT_LOGGING_RULES=*.debug=true into /etc/profile.d/kde_log.sh and re-logigng. then the journalctl output fetched the beginning will be a /lot/ more verbose.
