Bug ID: 364405 Summary: Crashes when closing tabs. Error is a segmentation fault. Product: kate Version: 16.04.1 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: aayush.agarwal...@yahoo.com If I open a number of tabs and then close the ones I don't need then kate crashes with a segmentation fault. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a number of tabs, this number seems to be variable. It does not seem to matter if they are files or new tabs, but crashing seems to be more likely with files. 2. Start closing them when clicking on the cross on the tab. 3. Kate will crash unexpectedly. Actual Results: It would close a few tabs just fine, but then it would crash to desktop. On opening kate with the terminal I found that the crash reason was a segmentation fault. So if I have tabs open with unsaved data I would lose my changes. Expected Results: It should just close the file and continue to work as usual, with my remaining open tabs visible. I ran kate over strace to generate what kate was doing in attempts to reproduce this bug. I don't know how useful that will be but I'll upload the log anyway. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
