You can edit vector selection using normal vector tools on Global Selection
Mask after making a selection in a vector selection mode (so the straight
points can become smooth etc.). Moreover there are interactive ways to make the
selection in the first place. However I don't see an interactive (during
creation of the selection) way to edit already placed nodes. So, is this wish
still valid?
