It's not an "issue" with the filesystem, it's a property of the filesystem.
Just like not being able to use '/' in filenames on unix-like systems.

k3b assumes it is always writing to a unix-like filesystem, which isn't true if
you're ripping to a removable device like a portable hdd, sdcard, memory stick
etc.
