This is/was really a KHTML and/or KJS bug. I can see that:
1) the double-click on OpenLayers pages (see the demo at
https://openlayers.org/en/latest/examples/ ) works with the WebEngine
renderer/viewing mode;
2) OpenLayers doesn't work at all on KHTML (it used to render pages 10 years
ago, now no more, probably more HTML and JS stuff.
So from the point of view of Konqueror, part 1) is solved and I'm going to
close this bug.
There is still a bug and theoretically speaking it should be created against
KHTML (or this one retargeted for that purpose and reassinged to KHTML), but
given the future of KHTML, it's not worth doing it (sadly).
