--- Comment #5 from Janek Bevendorff <jbev_kdebugs...@refining-linux.org> --- Since I was already on it, I tried unsetting and then resetting all the media key bindings in the system settings under Shortcuts->Global Keyboard Shortcuts->KMix (Kmix wasn't running at that time). After this procedure it's working now, so I uninstalled KMix (which also changed the component name in the settings from "Kmix" to "Audio Volume"). Then I also realized that Chrome (and therefore Google Play Music) suddenly wasn't receiving Forward/Back/Play/Pause keys anymore. Setting the shortcuts for these under the "Media Controller" KDE component to "None" also fixed that issue, though.
