Bug ID: 435949 Summary: Does not show custom bluetooth device name when device selected Product: plasma-pa Version: 5.21.4 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: applet Assignee: now...@gmail.com Reporter: dashonww...@pm.me CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Now that pipewire has gotten to a point that it can be used for audio. I've switched over to it and everything works. However, in plasma you can set a custom name for bluetooth devices so that you don't need to remember the factory name. If you go to bluetooth settings and click on a connected device. You can change the name. I have done this. When using pulseaudio whenever I connect my bluetooth headphones. The correct (custom) name is shown. However when using pipewire-pulse. It shows the default manufacturer name regardless of what I have changed it to in system settings. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install pipewire-pulse and enable its systemd user services 2. reboot your computer 3. pair a bluetooth device 4. go to bluetooth in system settings or by right clicking the bluetooth applet. Then selecting configure bluetooth. 5. Rename the paired device. 6. Switch audio output to default and then back to the bluetooth device. OBSERVED RESULT The manufacturer device name is shown instead of the custom one in the popup. EXPECTED RESULT The custom name should be shown in the visual popup.
