Bug ID: 437043 Summary: Emoji Selector Does Not Pop Up On Cyrillic Keyboard Product: plasmashell Version: 5.21.4 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Emoji Selector Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: kirill.bogdane...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY When using Cyrillic keyboard layout (e.g. Ukrainian) the hotkey Meta+. does not open the emoji selector STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add Cyrillic keyboard layout in systemsettings (e.g. Ukrainian, Bulgarian, (North) Macedonian, Belarusian) 2. Switch to the layout 3. Press Meta+. OBSERVED RESULT The letter assigned to the "." key is printed. In case of Ukrainian layout it is the letter "ю". EXPECTED RESULT Emoji selector window should be shown SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 20.10, Wayland session (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 5.21.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.81.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This might be Wayland-related. Since I have a HiDPI screen and X11 is really bad with fractional scaling, I do not use X11 and have not checked if the bug is reproducible there. I can also say, that this bug is probably reproducible with any non-latin keyboard layout. Because for example, emoji selector works just fine with Polish keyboard layout. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
