            Bug ID: 437470
Summary: Screen turning off after reconnecting the docking
                    station
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.21.5
          Platform: Manjaro
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Multi-screen support
          Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
          Reporter: jan.clausse...@web.de
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
I am not sure if this bug is related to Plasma or my docking station. I have an
older ThinkPad dock and when I disconnect and reconnect the dock, the display
moves to the external monitor and then turns off. I have to quickly press the
button to switch screens, select the laptop screen and then the external screen
again.

I do not have this problem when using a pure HDMI or Display port connection. I
also have other problems like that the sleep mode is not activated anymore when
closing the laptop lid after I have disconnected the dock. It is a ThinkPad
USB-C dock type 40A9.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect the dock via USB-C with an external monitor connected
2. Unplug the USB connector and reconnect it

OBSERVED RESULT
The display is shown on the external monitor for 1-2 seconds and then turns
off. I have to disconnect and try again with the strategy mentioned above.
Pressing the button to switch displays doesn't react otherwise.
