SUMMARY
Hello,
Working with digiKam 7.3.0 snapshot 8.6.2021 I worked on a Windows 10 system
with "Add Border" tool and got 2 findings:
(1)
Select an image and open "Add Border" Tool with Image Editor --> Add Border
Select border type e.g.: Decorative Wood
and select 2 colors.
With checkbox "Preserve Aspect Ratio" unchecked
- First becomes color of outer border
- Second becomes color of inner border
Now check checkbox "Preserve Aspect Ratio" and the colors of the borders
exchange.
Is this really by design?

With this as prerequisites select border type "Solid" and the image gets a
black border although color First is different to black.
You have to open First again in order to assign the really selected color.
It would be very helpful to assign the selected colors directly after selecting
type "Solid"
