That's not a workaround, it's the correct solution. The X11 backend enables
running kwin_wayland in windowed mode, nested in an X11 session. The DRM
backend enables running a standalone session.
If the dependency resolver chose to install the wrong backend on its own,
please file a packaging bug against your distribution.
