SUMMARY
The moment I plug in a second monitor (HDMI) Kwin crashes and my session
ceases. If the monitor is plugged in when logging in through SDDM, the session
crashes immediately and I get thrown back to the log-in screen. The only way to
use my computer currently is to not use a second monitor.
This started to happen after a rather big system upgrade, which updated Kwin
from 5.22.2.1 to 5.22.3 and the KDE-Frameworks from 5.83.0 to 5.84.0. Update to
Kwin 5.22.4 didn't fix the issue. Unfortunately the issue could be related to
another component too. At the same time, I also updated the kernel from 5.12.14
to 5.13.4, but after a downgrade the issue remained.
POSSIBLY RELATED
During lots of restarts, once the configuration worked when KDE forgot the
display configuration and the displays where aligned horizontally. The moment I
changed it back to vertically inside system settings, it crashed and I wasn't
able to try it out again. How do I delete the (two-) monitor configuration
manually?
Also, the system is a notebook with Intel + Nvidia graphic cards, Kwin should
run on the Intel card, but afaik the HDMI interface uses the Nvidia card
somehow.
Also, inside the log there where issues with Thunderbolt. I don't know if
Thunderbolt and HDMI are related. I removed ›bolt‹ for now, but it didn't
change anything.

Please let me know how I can obtain more useful information for you. I guess
it's hard to do anything right now.
