I guess we still have a residual problem of the connector names changing across Wayland and X11. Using the connector name to identify screens is actually the root cause of a lot of our multi-monitor issues. I think we should switch to a more stable identifier like the monitor's serial number, and add a config UI to allow people to more easily move or clone containments/panels across screens.
