            Bug ID: 442309
Summary: KDE neon (Live from USB) changes clock under Windows
                    10
           Product: neon
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
                OS: Microsoft Windows
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Live/Install images
          Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have a Laptop with Windows 10 as it's main OS. Sometimes I use KDE neon as a
live system for a USB stick for testing. When I boot KDE neon, restart and boot
back into Windows 10 the system clock is changed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Windows 10 as you main OS
2. Run KDE neon from a USB stick (and ?do nothing? -> see "ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION")
3. Boot back into Windows 10 and see the clock changed

OBSERVED RESULT
The clock is changed by -2 hours. I guess this is because I live in a +2 hours
timezone and KDE neon resets it to +0.
It's easy to fix on Windows 10: Open the time settings and toggle the setting
to automatically get the time off and back on.

EXPECTED RESULT
KDE neon should not change the settings - especially as live system from a USB
stick

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 10 Home (Version 20H2; build 19042.1165)
Linux/KDE Plasma: Will be checked the next time I use the live system (I used
neon-user-20210902-0945)
KDE Plasma Version: per above
KDE Frameworks Version: per above
Qt Version: per above

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Own Laptop: MSI Bravo 17

This *might* be related to KDE neon connecting to the internet. So when KDE
neon is connected to the internet it changes the time setting, if it isn't it
does not. I need to retest this though.

I tested this bug on a company laptop and there it did not change the time.
HOWEVER: That PC had a locked BIOS/UEFI and the Win 10 system was encrypted (So
I would have been surprised very much if KDE neon managed to change the time
setting over there)

A though: Would KDE neon change the date as well on New Years Eve when I'm
already in the next year, but +0 is not?
