Unfortunately on my system even logging out with one keyboard layout, at the
following login you get the wrong one. This is particularly visible for this
RPI system that has no suspend/restore and consequently gets switched off.

Reduced efforts on X11 are understandable, ... But out of curiosity is the
"restore previous session" management now functioning in wayland? I knew there
was an issue with it for the lack of a standardized protocol in wayland for
session management and that each DE was expected to implement its own solution
unless the gnome solution is general enough to become a de facto standard. Has
anything changed? Lack of session management is one of the things that keeps me
on X11.

In any case, the behavior I am experiencing seems different from the "intended"
one you describe above. Should a different bug be posted (or maybe should this
one be reopened and retitled?). Furthermore, given that the priority is never
enforced in X11, the "up" and "down" buttons for layouts on X11 come out as a
bit misleading. Could a tooltip be added to them indicating that ordering is
not used on X11?
