This is correct, there's no way to completely remove the channel right now.
Resetting only clears it. This shouldn't be too hard to add, and I'll add to
the list, but I don't know if it'll make it before 5.0.
As for the using shift to select multiple points, that's also a good idea and
something we can add to our list of things to do.
