For this (complex) filter; it's better to keep two layers only: - The style on top - The target under. Then on GMIC select the input "All" and for the style "Style (Top)". It really works very well, even if the style is another resolution (like 20% size of the canvas). i also tested other multilayer operation: like colorize line-art, autofill; things that ouput two layers.
