All I need to do to make the icons move is turn the hdmi monitor off and then
on again! I am not kidding.
I do nothing but turn the monitor off and on and the icons mv by themselves. It
doesn't matter if they are locked or not. Sometimes it ignores the 'manual'
setting and arranges them as if it weren't set. Other times they seem to move
to random positions.
I read somewhere on here that different resolutions might play a role. Perhaps
the hdmi monitor steps through some as it acquires the signal from the
computer. IDK.
Anyhow. No need to reboot, logout or do *anything* but turn that monitor off
and on to trigger the bug. The other monitor is vga and both are just coming
off the motherboard (bios says 2009) and not a special video card.
I hope this helps to track it down.
I never had the bug until I hooked up this hdmi monitor, so it makes sense that
way at least too.
