The commands I mentioned work just fine (new window and so on), as long as I'm not using global menu. When I switch the global menu off, everything works as expected. Now, I recorded the video using simplescreenrecorder. If I record another video, you still won't be able to watch it. The video shows me clicking on the menu items I mentioned. But the menu items are within plasma's desktop bar. Bottom line is, I don't think it's necessarily a krita bug, it may be a bug involving the code of the global menu itself.
