I am affected as well.
Seems that the physical keyboard or the layouts do not influence.
My layouts in KDE: English (US, intl. with dead keys) and Portuguese (Brazil).
Both layouts fail when using the acute (é) and umlaut/dieresis(ü or ï) accent:
h ótel hõtel hòtel hôtel h ötel
