When I add the volume effect, immediately on playback Kdenlive crashes with the
following gdb:

I'm using the daily ppa that compiles master on Kubuntu 16.04.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add an audio source to the timeline
2. Add the volume effect
3. Hit playback in the timeline

Actual Results:  
crash

Expected Results:  
no crash
