Can you link to a failed openQA job?
With Plasma 5.24 (and git master), something vaguely related happened in our
testing as well.
Until https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/1946, kwin didn't use
the cursor plane with virtio_gpu, so the cursor was visible to openQA as well.
This uncovered that the mouse_hide call did not have any effect at all:

The cursor moved fine when connecting to VNC manually.
