Summary: Volume indicator appears in the middle of screen, make
it vertical and move it to the side so it doesn't
                    block or distract from content
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.23.5
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux

          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk

  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

If you are changing the volume, chances are you are playing something with
audio, maybe a video, in which case a volume indicator will appear almost in
the middle of the screen, distracting you from the video.

It should be put on the sides(perhaps it could follow where the volume icon
is?) and be made vertical rather than horizontal, this way it should not block
anything important.

The bottom center is a sacred place reserved for subtitles, the Top Center can
be used for subtitles when the video itself has credits on the bottom, like
this example I've found: https://imgur.com/gallery/Brv9O

If making it vertical requires too much work, then move it to the top right of
the screen. It could block certain subtitles, but if it cuts something it will
be the end of a sentence/word, your brain has better chances of filling the
games at the end of a sentence/word rather than the beginning of one. Hence Top
Right, not Top Left.
