The reason I think it is something related to plasma is that it is not reproducible in X11 sessions. SUMMARY Audio output through the Display-Port cable to my monitor is not being recognized. The monitor is Gigabyte G27QC 27'' STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start a Wayland session with the same setup OBSERVED RESULT No Audio output device. EXPECTED RESULT HDMI / Display-Port 3 audio device that uses the monitor's speakers. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux x86_64 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am using a RTX 3070 with the nvidia 510.47.03-6 driver. with GBM enabled in kernal parameters to be able to lunch the Wayland session.
