I'm see the same bug. My system has:

Qt Version: 5.12.8
Kernel Version: 5.4.0-96-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz
Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM
Workaround...
1. Press shift key to wake up the screen lock
2. Then press tab four times to focus input in the login prompt. Or, just use
the mouse (which is not preferable).
3. Enter password
